My name is Jennie Walters, and I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. Just a few days ago, on Friday, July 7, 2023, my world was turned upside down when my house in Monymusk Compound, Lionel Town, Clarendon was engulfed in flames and destroyed.

The events leading up to that devastating moment began innocently enough, as my family and I were enjoying a night out with friends. However, that evening took a terrifying turn when I received a phone call informing me that my home was on fire. Without a moment’s hesitation, my family and I rushed back, filled with fear and dread for what awaited us.

By the time we arrived, it was too late. The fire had consumed everything we held dear, leaving us with nothing but ashes and ruins. All our belongings, including essential items such as beds, televisions, microwaves, tables, dressers, fans, and even our stove, were lost in the blaze.

To make matters worse, the destruction of our home also robbed me of my means of transportation. I used to rely on my bicycle to travel long distances to fetch water and to carry out my work as a coal farmer. With the loss of my bicycle and my power saw, my ability to sustain our livelihoods has been severely compromised.

I am now left in a state of desperation, trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered life. Rebuilding a home, replacing essential items, and restoring some semblance of normalcy feels like an insurmountable task, especially considering our limited resources.

That is why I am reaching out to you today. I humbly request your assistance and support in this trying time. Your generous contributions will help me rebuild my home, provide basic necessities for my family, and enable me to resume my work as a coal farmer.
